Check out The Raid though for a more toned down Shek, playing the elder adventurer kind of role.

You've missed a classic ther, Stoo.......................................

It's not a complete waste of time, though it's not that good either. A bit of a Marmite movie. Some love it but many hate it. Yuen Tak's action is ok most of the time but there are some duff bits there too. Dean Shek doesn't really register with me in that film though. (Wasn't he a producer too?) His lack of actual Shekness makes him rather bland in it.

I tend to watch it for Maggie Cheung.

it has some manic Clarence Fok style in it too which is always fun but also wildly uneven like many of his films.

Think it was a Cinema City movie so Shek as producer is very possible.

Other good Shekie stuff:

Blood Reincarnation (74 I think) where Shek is in the first of three horror stories
A Queen's Ransom. Plays a copy assigned to protect Angela Mao's character. Straight role. Fun movie. Lazenby and Wang Yu again.

According to HKMDB Dean Shek was the "presenter" of "Dragon From Russia"...... whatever that means. I'm guessing it has something to do with being one of the owners of the film company, maybe?

I liked him in "A Queen's Ransom". A restrained performance.

I think I've mellowed to Dean Shek over the years. Now I just grind my teeth and mutter when he's at his most annoying rather than tearing at my eyes and stuffing cotton wool in my ears.
